Field Programs & Community Workshops
Discover our four active 2026 operational programs designed to bring accessible physical exercise, collaborative acoustic music, and social warmth directly to our neighborhoods. All activities are 100% free of charge.
Grassroots Programming Open Unconditionally to Every Resident
At Association 'Sur Les Rives Du Gland', our activities are created with a single objective: to eliminate the physical, psychological, and financial hurdles that prevent people from enjoying active leisure and creative fulfillment. Whether you are seeking gentle outdoor exercise, wish to introduce your children to musical instruments, or simply want to share a peaceful cup of coffee and conversation with neighbors, our doors are open to you.
Program 1: Accessible Riverside Sports & Gentle Mobility
Regular physical exercise is one of the most effective non-pharmacological interventions for preserving cardiovascular health, joint flexibility, and mental well-being. However, high-impact gym environments and expensive subscriptions often discourage seniors, individuals managing chronic conditions, or those who have been inactive for extended periods.
Our weekly outdoor sessions take place along the scenic, shaded walking paths of the river Gland. Led by trained volunteer wellness facilitators, each session begins with low-impact warm-up exercises, followed by guided group walks suited to different paces, and cooperative petanque matches on public grounds. Participation requires no prior athletic background, and specialized light walking poles and bocce boules are loaned without cost.
Program 2: Community Acoustic Workshops & Instrument Petting Zoo
Artistic expression should be a shared public resource, not an exclusive privilege reserved for households that can afford expensive conservatory tuitions and instruments. Our community music workshop program opens the doors of melody and harmony to every curious resident.
Held twice monthly in municipal halls, these workshops offer hands-on discovery of acoustic guitars, mandolins, accordions, hand drums, and violins. Under the patient guidance of amateur volunteer musicians and retired instructors, participants learn foundational chord shapes, participate in collective singing, and build the confidence to express themselves artistically. The association maintains a pool of community instruments that participants can practice with during all sessions free of charge.
Program 3: Mobile Acoustic Stage & Village Cultural Festivals
Bringing live music to neighborhoods, market squares, and rural villages where cultural programming is scarce is the mission of our Mobile Acoustic Stage initiative. Utilizing portable, low-emission sound equipment acquired through public cultural development subsidies, our technical crew sets up acoustic performances in public parks, village greens, and municipal courtyards.
These free public concerts celebrate regional folk traditions, acoustic singer-songwriters, brass ensembles, and amateur neighborhood choirs. By staging these performances in open public areas, we transform everyday municipal spaces into lively cultural hubs where families, children, and elderly residents gather on park benches to enjoy free entertainment in a warm, festive atmosphere.
Program 4: Youth Recreational Discovery & Technical Stage Mentorship
Civic responsibility is nurtured through practical, meaningful community engagement. Our Youth Mentorship program offers adolescents and young adults opportunities to learn practical skills in event coordination, stage sound engineering, crowd hospitality, and municipal logistics.
Under the supervision of experienced adult volunteer coordinators, youth participants assist in setting up sound equipment, managing event sign-in tables, and distributing informational brochures to senior attendees. These hands-on experiences instill confidence, teamwork, and a profound appreciation for non-profit civic service, helping young citizens build valuable life skills while actively contributing to their home community.
How to Participate in Our Free Programs
Joining our field activities is straightforward, transparent, and welcoming. Because all activities are funded through public subsidies and civic benevolence, there are no complicated enrollment forms or upfront membership charges:
1. Free Open Arrival
For outdoor walking groups and park concerts, you may simply show up at the published time and location. Our volunteers will greet you, introduce you to fellow neighbors, and assist with any mobility questions.
2. Advance Workshop Inquiries
For indoor acoustic instrument workshops with limited space, a quick inquiry through our contact form helps us reserve an instrument and coordinate chair setups to ensure everyone's comfort.
